Fifteen Teams Travel to Sunny Arizona for Cactus League Spring Training

Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) January 25, 2010 -- With more teams than ever, Cactus League Spring Training makes Sunny Arizona the destination of choice for baseball fans this spring. From March 3 through April 3, there will be more than 200 spring training games in 30 days, played by 15 teams. This is the first year that the Cincinnati Reds will join the Cactus League, which includes teams such as the Angels, Rockies, Cubs and Brewers. The Chicago Cubs play at Mesa's HoHoKam Park and Tempe Diablo Stadium is the home field for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Spring Training ticket prices begin at $6 for the Angels and $8 for the Cubs.

Between games, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, such as the newly expanded Play Ball! Cactus League Exhibition at the Arizona Museum for Youth. This exhibition celebrates classic moments in Arizona's Cactus League baseball history which spans more than 100 years.

Tempe offers a variety of special events ranging from the Great Arizona Beer Festival (March 6-7), Avenue Q at ASU Gammage (March 9-14), and the Tempe Festival of the Arts (March 26-28). At the annual Chandler Ostrich Festival (March 12-14) at Tumbleweed Park, visitors can watch ostrich races and other live entertainment.

Sunny Arizona offers many dining and entertainment options. Tempe Marketplace is home to 1.3 million square feet of retailers, restaurants and taverns. Historic Downtown Chandler offers wine bars, cafes, boutiques and a weekly art walk and farmer's market.
